We invite you to take part in the Scientific and Practical Conference «Water Resources in the Face of Global Challenges: Environmental Issues, Management, and Monitoring», which will be held on September 20–22, 2023, in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.

 Conference language – Russian, English.

POSSIBLE FORMS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE:

  • in-person participation with an oral presentation;
  • remote participation with an oral presentation.

THEMATIC FIELDS

1. Quality of surface water and groundwater resources in the context of anthropogenic impact and climate change.

2. Cycles of substances of natural and anthropogenic origin in the system «soils of catchment areas – surface waters – bottom sediments» and their impact on the ecological state of water bodies.

3. Peculiarities of the aquatic ecosystems’ functioning in the «river – estuary – sea» transit zone.

4.Water systems and dangerous natural and technogenic processes: risks and consequences, vulnerability assessment, methods of prevention, and forecasting.

5.Scientific and methodological support for hydrological, hydrochemical, and hydrobiological monitoring, assessment, and forecasting of the state of water resources.

6.Water resources and socio-economic development.

7.Goals and methods of water management strategic planning at national, regional, and basin levels.

8.Digitalization as a tool for effective water management.

The reports considering adjacent issues are also welcome. The list of thematic fields for the conference is not exhaustive and may be extended or reduced depending on the number and topics of reports received and accepted.

To participate in the conference please complete and submit the electronic registration form until June 30, 2023.

GUIDELINES FOR CONFERENCE PAPERS

The conference papers and the registration forms should be sent to the e-mail address of the organizing committee conf-water@sfedu.ru until July 31, 2023.

Each author or co-author can submit no more than three reports. Each paper should be submitted as a separate file. The file name should indicate the number of the thematic field and the surname of the first author (example: 4_Petrov).

Within three days, we will confirm the reception of materials. If you do not receive our confirmation, please send us the paper again.

The paper should be written in Russian or English, typed using Times New Roman font (normal style, font size 12 pt., alignment justified), 1.15 pt. line spacing, 1.25 cm paragraph indent, and saved in MS-Word file format (*.doc or *.docx). Page size should be A4 (210 × 297 mm), single column, with 2 cm margins on top, bottom, left, and right sides.

For mathematical symbols, the Symbol font is accepted.

The paper should not contain more than five pages, including tables, figures, and a bibliography (if necessary).

Automatic or manual page numbering and text hyphenation should not be used.

The title of the report should be placed on the top of the first page in the center (in bold capital letters, 12 pt. font size, single spacing, alignment centered). Then the surnames and initials of the authors (in italics, font size 12 pt., single spacing, alignment in the center), the names of organizations, cities, and countries (normal style, font size 12 pt., single spacing, alignment in the center), as well as one contact e-mail (in italics, font size 12 pt., single spacing, alignment in the center) should be given. After an empty line, the abstract (no more than 500 characters (spaces not included), 10 pt., single spacing, alignment justified, 1.25 cm paragraph indent) and keywords (up to five key words, 10 pt., single spacing, alignment justified, 1.25 cm paragraph indent) should be placed, followed by another empty line and the text of the report.

If the paper is written by a team of authors, the name of the author who will present the report at the conference should be underlined.

Tables and figures may be full-page or partial-page width, but they should be centered on the page, without wrapping on either side. Figure captions (Fig. 1 – Text of the caption) should be centered below the figures (normal style, font size 11 pt, alignment centered). Table captions (Table 1 – Text of the caption) should be centered above the tables (normal style, font size 11 pt., alignment centered). Avoid placing figures and tables before their first mention in the text. In addition, figures should be submitted in the form of *.jpg files. Note that the conference proceedings will be printed in grayscale.

 

Papers will be reproduced exactly as submitted and will not be edited in any way. Linguistic accuracy as well as quotation and citation correctness are the responsibility of the authors.

 

To prepare the conference paper it is recommended to use this template.

 

The organizing committee reserves the right to reject materials that do not meet the above-mentioned requirements and conference thematic.

ATTENTION!

Participation in the conference and publication of reports are free of registration fee. Travel and accommodation costs should be borne by participants or their employers.

The conference proceedings will be published by the beginning of the conference.
